Tribunjogja.com – PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) has prepared a quality network to make the 2024 General Election a success, including voting day on Wednesday (14/02/2024).
Even though there are no special preparations, XL Axiata is determined to maintain the network so that the democratic party can be maximally enjoyed by customers and the public in general.
This network readiness is part of XL Axiata’s continuous network and customer experience improvement efforts throughout the year.
Director & Chief Technology Officer of XL Axiata, I Gede Darmayusa, said, “We have prepared a network with sufficient capacity to anticipate a traffic spike at the election moment. What is certain is that the comfort and smooth communication activities of customers and the public are our concern and priority. “We hope that if there is a spike in traffic, the service will continue to run smoothly without any significant obstacles.”
I Gede added that he estimates that during the democratic party there will be an increase in traffic of around 10 percent, compared to normal conditions on weekdays.
XL Axiata network officers and teams will be on standby in the field and from XL Axiata’s Customer Experience & Service Operation Center (CE&SOC) monitoring center in Jakarta.
Anticipation in the event of an emergency has also been prepared to ensure a quality network.
Currently, XL Axiata has more than 57 million customers, and is supported by more than 158 thousand BTS, with the majority being 4G BTS, as well as a fiber optic backbone network that stretches for more than 159 thousand km, supporting a data network spread across most of the vast Indonesian archipelago.

Preparedness ahead of the Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh celebrations
XL Axiata has also prepared a network to anticipate a spike in data traffic during the Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh celebrations.
It is predicted that the increase in traffic will occur especially in big cities, including Mataram City (7 percent), Denpasar City (7 percent), Yogyakarta City (7 percent), Kab. Badung (7 percent), and Pontianak City (6 percent).
XL Axiata will pay full attention to network quality in a number of residential areas, accommodation, places of worship and shopping centers.
More traffic will increase in data services.
In terms of service type, streaming service traffic, such as films, music and games, is generally predicted to increase.
Apart from that, services such as Video Calls, Web Browsing, and Instant Messaging (IM) will also experience an increase because usually at this moment many people will send their congratulations.
