Seven years ago, on April 1, 2017, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council decided to establish Hebei Xiongan New Area. Over the past seven years, the construction of this “city of the future” has achieved significant phased results. From blueprint to reality, a high-level modern city is rising from the ground. Number one: more than 670 billion. At present, more than 670 billion yuan has been invested in more than 380 key projects in Xiongan New Area, and more than 4,000 buildings have been built.
Number two: 200. Among the first batch of four state-owned enterprises in Xiongan New Area, three headquarters projects have reached the top of their main structures. At present, central enterprises have established more than 200 institutions of various types in Xiongan New Area, and their demonstration role and agglomeration effect are prominent.
Number three: “Three schools and one college”. Xiongan Beihai Kindergarten, Xiongan Shijia Hutong Primary School, Beijing No. 4 Middle School Xiongan Campus, Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital. The “three schools and one hospital” built with Beijing’s aid have started school and opened clinics. In the future, 15 universities in Beijing will relocate to Xiongan, making it a gathering place for universities.
Number four: 144 kilometers. At present, Xiongan has built a total of 144 kilometers of underground comprehensive pipeline corridors and more than 500 kilometers of digital roads extending in all directions. Digital cities and real cities are being constructed simultaneously, forming a standard framework for smart city construction covering 3 categories, 9 aspects, and more than 200 standards.
Exploration and practice of three cities “above ground, underground, and above the cloud”
On the ground in Xiongan, “smart roads” are in dialogue with “smart cars”, and driverless intelligent connected buses are integrated into the city’s public transportation system; the Beijing-Xiongan Expressway realizes real-time intelligent monitoring of its operating status, and the monitoring of abnormal traffic events on the road is shortened to less than 30 seconds.
Underground in Xiong’an, water, electricity, heat, gas and other pipelines are all “lived” in the comprehensive pipe corridor; the 1 million square meters of underground space in the Xiong’an Intercity Station and the International Trade Center area will form an “underground city.” High-speed trains and subways can be transferred at the same level underground, allowing passengers to “enter the city immediately after exiting the station”; “5G+Beidou” positioning and navigation technology provides navigation for more than 200,000 square meters of underground parking lots in the Rongdong area.
In Xiong’an on the cloud, the “city brain” helps the “twin co-construction” of digital cities and real cities, giving birth to countless smart application scenarios. Smart lives such as “swiping your face to eat” and “cloud protection for the elderly living alone” are within reach, and smart urban management has become a reality.
