The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puigannounced the launch of a new line of support for ceramic companies endowed with 50 million euros and aimed at covering the most urgent liquidity needs of the sector.
Ximo Puig made the announcement during the meeting held with the director of the Valencian Institute of Finance (IVF), Manuel Illucaand indicated that the call for these grants will be published this Monday in Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV).
Liquidity for the sector
«The objective of the aid is to give liquidity to a key sector, which is suffering a lot from the increase in the price of energy, and to ensure that it can meet its payments with guarantees, especially at a time like the present one where the conditions for accessing credit have considerably tightened»Puig pointed out.
«Gas and electricity bills have triggered production costs in those sectors that are intensive in their use. At Consell we are aware of this reality, which is why we wanted to provide resources to strategic industries for the Valencian Community, such as the production of ceramic floor and wall tiles or the enamel sector, with a long tradition in our territory and a huge weight in terms of job creation and added value»the president explained.
The ordinance provides for loans of up to 10 million per group of companies, so as to also cover the needs of large companies in the sector. Likewise, the loan amount will not have to be repaid until the loan expires, after four years.
A quick response
The line of credit is called before the approval of the Budget of the Generalitat for the next financial year 2023, using the own resources of the in vitro fertilizationwith the aim that the money reaches the companies as soon as possible, in line with the commitment made by Consell during the meeting of the Ceramic Table.
“In this way, the pressing needs of the sector are met without having to wait for the approval of the 2023 budget. Since we have promised to activate this credit line, several companies are already interested in helping and we wanted to be as agile as possible. possible”revealed the head of the Consell.
To these 50 million intended for the ceramic sector, another 10 million will be added for companies in other groups of activities, such as textiles, or which also make intensive use of energy.
Ximo Puig reaffirmed Consell’s commitment to implement renewable energies a “achieve energy sovereignty”and to promote new technologies, such as green hydrogen or electrification, to generate “safety, certainty and ability to be competitive in the future”.
