/ world today news/ On July 3, the Chinese ambassador to Washington, Xie Feng, met with the US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations as well as financial matters of mutual interest.
The Chinese ambassador pointed out that stable and sustainable Sino-US relations meet the common interests of the two countries. This is also a general wish of the international community. Beijing hopes that Washington will fully implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, eliminate obstacles and control differences with real actions, sincerely strengthen dialogue, develop cooperation so that bilateral relations can move on a normal track. Xie Feng also expressed China’s position on the important trade and economic issues between the two countries and demanded that the US side pay attention to them and take measures to resolve them.
Both sides are of the opinion that the meeting was frank and constructive. They agreed to continue contacts.
