Time to abandon physics buttons?
Xiaomi is said to be working on a phone that will revisit the idea that there are no physical buttons.
It is the revelation Smartprix that has come across information about an alleged new mobile phone from Xiaomi that could bet on a concept that Vivo tested a few years ago with the Nex 3 – to completely create a mobile phone without physical buttons.
The mobile phone is said to go by the name of the Zhuque project, but it is not clear how functions such as on/off will be controlled, but it is speculated that it may be about about pressure sensitive edges. For other tasks, there may be a question of gesture control and voice commands.
Other information about the Zhuque includes that it will use a front camera mounted below the screen. It will also use an unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 processor, named SM8775. Apparently, it should be the same processor that can be used in the Xiaomi 15S Pro, which is expected in the second quarter of 2025.
