During this summer, the Chinese brand Xiaomi will unveil the prototype of its first electric car and it will do so as a preamble to its launch, which is planned for August 2024.
It was in 2021 when the Asian company specialized in technology began working on the creation of the unit, allocating more than $10 billion dollars to its development.
According to information that has been published by Xiaomi, the plan is that initially the electric car only be marketed in China; however, it is hoped that it will later be exported all over the world to compete with products that are already on the market.
The company has a goal of manufacturing around 300,000 cars per year, but this would happen once the production plants are at full capacity.
How much will Xiaomi’s car cost?
So far it has not been disclosed what the price of the unit will be; However, the Chinese company announced that it will work hand in hand with its mobile department to implement technology never seen before between mobile devices and cars.
Although Xiaomi has not released many details about the car so far, it is known that it will be completely electric and that it will use lithium-ion batteries. There is no clear news about the name of Xiaomi’s electric car either; however, the company already registered Xiaomi Auto o Xiaomi Automobile.
In addition, the version has emerged that the brand will join with others for sale and distribution in countries around the world and that the car will have different names in the places where it is marketed.
It has also been announced that work is being done on a patent for a system in which one car can be loaded with another.
