The new TV from Xiaomi should satisfy even the most demanding customers. If you don’t really want OLED, Mini LED is becoming an increasingly popular solution. It’s cheaper to manufacture and still offers excellent contrast and true blacks. Xiaomi TV S85 Mini LED has 144Hz refresh rate (in game mode up to 240Hz), MEMC technology and 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, which is a very good value for TVs. The maximum brightness is up to 1200 rivets when playing HDR content, HDR10+ or HLG support is a matter of course, and just like the smaller variants, this one also meets the certification IMAX Enhanced. Players will also be pleased HDMI 2.1, so it is also suitable for game consoles of the current generation, VRR or AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. The response time is a solid 4 ms.
The TV is running on an operating system HyperOS, however, the manufacturer did not specify the hardware in any way. Speakers with power 25 W it is not one of the strongest, it had to save somewhere. It can do Dolby Atmos though. In terms of connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth and NFC are also worth mentioning.
It’s time for Xiaomi to open the doors to TVs in Europe as well.
