Xiaomi Set to Dominate Indonesia’s Smartphone Market in Q2 2024, Overtaking Oppo and Samsung




Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Xiaomi will become the king of smartphones in Indonesia in the second quarter of 2024. This achievement moved other technology giants such as Oppo and Samsung.

Canalys said that Xiaomi achieved a significant growth of 48% year-on-year (yoy) with a market share of 20%.

At the beginning of 2024, Xiaomi will receive positive results from sales in the lower middle class segment. One of them is due to the appearance of the Redmi Note 13 series.

Redmi Note 13 gave the public five variants at the same time, starting from Redmi Note 13 4G, Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G.

Xiaomi moved the position of Oppo, which is now in second place. Canalys reported annual growth of 8% with a market share of 19%.

Vivo is behind Oppo in 3rd place, the company’s growth is 18% yoy and the market share is 18%.

South Korean technology giant Samsung is in fourth place. The company is growing 10% every year, and its market share is equal to Oppo’s, 18%.

In fifth place is Transsion with a growth of 25% yoy and a market share of 15%. The company has three brands, namely Infinix, Tecno and Itel.
