JD.com has revealed the largest Chinese online retailer, JD.com. Xiaomi sold the most phones, followed by Apple in second place and Honor in third place.
In terms of hardware, the top 3 sellers were the vanilla Redmi K40, iPhone 13 and Redmi 9A at very affordable prices.
The 20 best phones and companies
The performance and versatility of Xiaomi’s portfolio scored nine devices in the top 20, and this includes Redmi and Mi units of all price ranges. Fans are very fond of their Redmi Note editions as the series has been represented for its last three generations.
It’s interesting to see that the subsidiary managed to outperform its (former) parent companies: Redmi outperformed Mi, Realme pushed harder than Oppo, iQOO outperformed Vivo, and even standalone Honor now dominates Huawei.
Price details in some sectors
JD.com also provided a detailed breakdown of price segments, as well as so-called “gaming smartphones.” The most expensive field at over CNY 10,000 was won by the foldable Mate X2, followed by the Mate 40 RS and the Galaxy Z Flip3. The Asus ROG Phone 5 was ahead of both the Xiaomi Black Shark 4 and the Black Shark 4S.
Priced iPhones occupied the lower tier of CNY 5,000 and CNY 10,000, while Xiaomi Mi 11 won among the flagships that cost no more than CNY 5,000.
