It was also today that Xiaomi presented the new Redmi K50 and K50 Pro models that arrive with very desirable specifications.
They bring with them MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9000 and 8100 processors and a handful of innovative technology in the AMOLED display that stands out for the good.
Redmi K50 series equipped with new MediaTek processors
The new Redmi K50 and K50 Pro models were announced today, joining the previously presented Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. And the official presentation confirmed the good news that was already anticipated about the two terminals.
To start, right away, with integrated processors. The K50 is powered by the new Dimensity 8100 which has achieved a score of 850,000 on the AnTuTu platform. The chip is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
The Redmi K50 Pro has the Dimensity 9000 chip, also from MediaTek, and with a RAM memory of 8 or 12 GB. In the case of this terminal, the available internal storage options are 128, 256 and 512 GB.
But both models have an advanced cooling system to ensure that the processors perform at their best. Both the K50 and K50 Pro have a 3D heat dissipation system, as well as various materials (graphite, thermal paste, among others) that prevent the terminals from registering high temperatures.

But the highlight goes to the 6.6-inch AMOLED screen that both terminals integrate. The resolution is 2K (or 3200×1440 pixels) and the refresh rate is 120 Hz, in addition to 1200 nits in brightness.
Then there’s the integration of Dolby Vision technology, AI HDR, full DC dimming, 16,000-level automatic brightness adjustment and even a color sensor that adjusts depending on the ambient temperature. Also noteworthy is the Corning Gorilla Victus protection which, according to the brand, is 1.5x better than Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
On the optical side, the two terminals have a triple rear camera configuration, but with a difference. The K50 Pro integrates a primary sensor of 108 megapixels while the K50 is equipped with a main sensor of 48 megapixels of resolution, but both offer optical image stabilization.
Otherwise, they have the same eight-megapixel ultrawide and two-megapixel macro sensors. Both also have a 20-megapixel front camera for video calls and selfies.
Finally, they are also distinguished on another point. The Redmi K50 Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery with 120 watts fast charging that puts the battery to 100% in just 19 minutes. The K50 has a larger 5,500 mAh battery with support for 67-watt fast charging.
For now, they are only available in the Chinese market with prices starting at approximately 340 euros. There is still no information about their global availability, but it is possible that they will arrive in Europe as a POCO model.
