Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition presented

Xiaomi today presented the Redmi K30 5G in a new version: Currently there is still disagreement about how to translate the name: Sometimes the smartphone is called “Speed Edition”, sometimes “Racing Edition” and sometimes “Extreme Edition” “- choose what you like. The main innovations are a new color variant (see article picture) and the use of the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G, which makes its debut almost parallel to the new smartphone.

The smartphone also offers an IPS screen with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels in 20: 9 format on a diagonal of 6.67 inches with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and support for HDR10. 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space are available as standard. There is also a quad camera with 65 (wide-angle, Sony IMX686) + 8 (ultra-wide-angle) + 5 (macro) + 2 (depth sensor) megapixels.

The dual front camera has 20 + 2 megapixels and sits in a punch hole on the right edge of the screen. As you can already read out, the entire camera setup is identical to the Redmi K30 5G. Otherwise, the interfaces have remained the same. They include 3.5 mm audio, USB Type-C, dual SIM, NFC, infrared, GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and of course the eponymous 5G.

The fingerprint scanner of the Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition is located on the side in the power button. In addition, a battery with 4,500 mAh is on board, which can be recharged with 30 watts. Wireless charging? That’s missing. In China, the Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition costs the equivalent of around 260 euros. The only difference to the regular edition is obviously the slightly drilled SoC. It is open whether and when the smartphone could also come to Europe.
