Xiaomi will present its 12 and 12 Pro smartphones on December 28. Both models will receive a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 soc from Qualcomm. According to the Chinese manufacturer, the series has been ‘redefined’ and there will be a smaller model.
Xiaomi shows a render of the front of the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro on his Weibo page. It shows that a small variant and a larger model appear. Last week OnLeaks already showed renders of the Xiaomi 12 and that would be a 6.2 “model. This makes the device smaller than its predecessor: the Xiaomi Mi 11 has a 6.8 “screen. The Xiaomi 12 Pro will probably get a screen that is just as large as that of the predecessor. It is not yet known what the other differences are.
The manufacturer is not yet talking about a successor to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, but according to rumors, it is also on the way. Xiaomi would also come with a 12X version. Who gets according to Gizmochina a Snapdragon 870-soc instead of the new 8 Gen 1. Both the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X have already been used by prominent Xiaomi employees to post on Weibo, the site notes.
Xiaomi will present its new Android top models on Tuesday, December 28 at 12.30 pm Dutch time. The devices will probably first be released in China and a European release will follow later. The Mi 11 appeared in the Netherlands in March this year, after the device was announced in China at the end of 2020.
