TRIBUNNEWS.COM, BEIJING – Xiaomi has made a new innovation for a folding cellphone with a unique design that has now been patented. Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software said that Xiaomi patented the display of its new folding phone to the State Intellectual Property Office in China, Monday (10/4/2023).
The function of this new phone is designed to be the same as other smartphones that can be used to carry out cellular communications, as well as run a number of multimedia applications.
What distinguishes Xiaomi folding phones from folding phones in general is how it looks with the top of the cellphone screen being folded back and forth.
This makes this folding mobile phone smoother for the transition between the front camera and the rear camera.
Quoting from Gizmochina, this new breakthrough was launched to boost Xiaomi’s sales, which have continued to decline in recent months.
During the fourth quarter of 2022 Xiaomi’s mobile phone sales fell drastically and made the company’s revenue shrink to 66.05 billion yuan, down 22.8 percent compared to the profit in the same period in the previous year.

Xiaomi revealed that the decline in revenue was a result of restrictions on community activities by the Chinese Government at the end of 2022.
