After pass in front of Samsung with the launch of Mi Mix 4, now the Xiaomi wants to send a message to Apple with its new tablet models, the Mi Pad 5 and the Mi Pad 5 Pro, announced last Tuesday (10).
Both hit the market to go head-to-head with the iPad Pro. With Android 11 system and more attractive price, the devices have advanced specifications.
The simplest version of Xiaomi’s tablet has 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage and is equipped with the Snapdragon 860 processor. The Mi Pad 5 Pro features, in addition to the same options as the Mi Pad 5, one with a network connection 5G, 8GB of RAM memory and 256GB of internal memory.
Both versions have the same screen size, 11 inches. Unlike the Mi Mix 4 trend, tablets don’t have the hidden front camera — that many users have already reported not suitable for selfies. Selfie sensors are on the edge of the devices. The resolution varies from 5MP in the 5G version of the Pro and 8MP in the other versions.
On the back, the camera design is the same as the latest version of the Mi 11. The sides of Xiaomi’s novelty are the big tease to Apple: they are completely flat, just like the ones on the iPhone 12 e do iPad Pro.
As for the battery, Mi Pad 5 features 8,720 mAh and 33W charging support, while the Pro has a slightly smaller capacity, 8,600mAh, but higher charging speed, 67W.
Prices
For now, the line’s devices are only available in China. There is no information about a global release. There, prices vary between 1,999 yuan (about R$1600) and 3,499 yuan (about R$2,800) of the “lower” version than the Pro.
