In market share, Samsung accounted for 19 percent of global smartphone sales in the second quarter of 2021, while Xiaomi accounted for 17 percent and Apple 14 percent. Oppo and Vivo each have a 10 percent market share.
According to Canalys, one of the main reasons for Xiaomi’s growth is that their sales increased by 300 percent in Latin America, along with a growth of 150 percent in Africa. These are two giant markets where Xiaomi offers products that often cost half as much as Samsung’s or Apple phones.
