The foldable smartphone segment continues to grow and brands present in the segment are aware of this growth and are “refreshing” the market with new models. After Huawei unveiled the new Mate Xs 2 and Samsung prepares to launch the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 in August, Xiaomi will also bring news to this segment.

Little is known about the next Xiaomi foldable, but new images have now been released on the social network Twitter that suggest that the MIX Fold 2 terminal will have a design that opens in the style of a book.

The information comes through leaker Kacper Skrzypek, a member of the XDA Developers website, who discovered the new terminal in the source code of the latest versions of the MIUI interface.

From the images it is noticeable that we are facing a terminal with rounded corners and that the internal screen has no cutout. The outer screen is perforated to house the front camera.

For the rest, the leaker just shared that the terminal is being codenamed Zizhan.

What we already know about the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2

However, some rumors have already revealed other details about the specifications with which the foldable Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 can reach the market.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the model can have a flexible LTPO internal screen with a resolution of 2K. The well-known leaker also advanced that both indoor and outdoor screens can have 120 Hz refresh rates – this is a significant upgrade from the previous model that has a 60 Hz refresh rate.

On the optical side, the terminal is expected to feature a triple rear camera configuration with a primary sensor of 108 megapixels, an ultrawide sensor of 13 megapixels and a telephoto sensor with eight megapixels of resolution. On the front, there will be a 20 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Finally, it should run the Android 12 operating system, with a 5,020 mAh battery, with support for fast charging still unknown, and with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip at the controls.
