MIUI is the personalized interface that Xiaomi puts on their smartphones on top of Android. Apple already has the iOS operating system on its devices. But now two videos have appeared online that show that it is possible to install MIUI 11 on a first-generation iPhone SE.
The hacker team reportedly used the “checkm8” technique. In the videos shared on YouTube and Vimeo, we see MIUI 11 running on the iPhone SE, although its short duration is not enough to understand how it fares in performance.
The aforementioned “checkm8” vulnerability was thus used for the installation of this version of MIUI, although the iOS was still accessible to the user. The responsible hackers claim that “it wasn’t a big hack or jailbreak”, as the vulnerability will have done most of the work.
Hackers promise to release detailed installation guide
It’s nice to realize that this installation of MIUI 11 on an iPhone SE wasn’t just for show. It is stated by the team involved that the objective is to later release a detailed installation guide.
This will be a very alternative solution for those who have an older iPhone, but prefer to use Android instead of iOS 15. Only some adventurers will try to do it, and it will always be at your own risk.
We view this feat with great curiosity, although it should be noted that MIUI only appears to work on this iPhone SE for a few seconds. Only with greater demonstration of its performance and stability will we be able to draw more conclusions.
