Yesterday, Xiaomi didn’t just introduce it smartphone Mi Mix 4, but also a pair of Mi Pad 5 and 5 Pro tablets. In both cases, they are elegant devices with many uses – you can scribble on them with a stylus or magnetically attach a keyboard cover to them and use the tablet as a travel computer.

The newly introduced tablets are similar to eggs, eggs, both weigh slightly over 510 grams, which is not a bad value at all within the category. Both tablets have a metal body, four Dolby Atmos-certified speakers and thin frames around the display.

The displays are the same in both cases – they have a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz (240 Hz for touch), Dolby Vision support, HDR10 and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. Following the example of apple tablets, there is also TrueTone technology, where the colors and brightness of the display adapt to the surrounding conditions. The displays can also be controlled with the stylus included in the package.

In both cases, in the upper left corner of the metal back, there is a camera whose photomodule resembles the smartphones of the series Xiaomi Mi 11. The number of cameras and their resolution vary depending on the equipment – the basic Mi Pad 5 has only one 13Mpx camera, while the Pro variant adds a 5Mpx “wide” to it. However, this only applies to the Wi-Fi version, as the Pro model can still be purchased in a variant with network support 5G and in its case, the main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels.

Let’s look for differences in charging, the basic Mi Pad 5 has a battery with a capacity of 8720 mAh 5 Pro, on the other hand, got a smaller 8600mAh battery under the hood, but with a higher charging power of 67 Watts.

You can connect a keyboard cover to both tablets, which unfortunately lacks a touchpad due to the chosen design. The keyboard connects magnetically and can be purchased in three different colors, as well as the tablets themselves. The Mi Pad 5 Pro will be available in black and white, the Mi Pad 5 will add even more green.
