Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is an expensive, great flagship with amazing potential. It’s been 24 hours since its premiere, and I still can’t stop staring at it and looking for flaws in the specification. This is what this text will be about – spoiler, I did not find any. It’s simply the best smartphone ever.
Yesterday’s premiere of Xiaomi was very rich (and long). Among the devices presented, the biggest star was Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, although it will probably change within a few hours of the publication of this text. However, before the Mi Mix 4 steals all the attention, it is worth devoting a few sentences about how much Xiaomi has jumped back from the competition.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra really has only one drawback – it is huge. The manufacturer spent a good 10 minutes during the presentation describing how easy it is to operate with one hand. I do not buy it at all, because it is a beast the size of a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, which I can not hold in one hand. In addition, it weighs 234 grams – a lot,
I’m not an NBA basketball player, but my hand is rather large, so most users will have an even bigger problem. I will add to this the balance, which is certainly disturbed by the camera archipelago, because it cannot be called an island anymore. On the one hand, it’s nice that there is an additional screen on it, and photos with its potential use are already circulating on the web. There is, for example, Spotify control between them.

Let’s move on to the merits, because this is not meant to be a text about complaining about the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. The premiere reminded me of the situation with some Huawei prime ministers, when their flagships set the direction of development, which the USA definitely did not like. I wonder if Xiaomi will meet a similar fate – this is a topic for a separate text.
Competition out of the way – Mi 11 Ultra is the new king of photography
So let’s start with the camera. Of course, I am not able to say whether Xiaomi did not color its results during the premiere. However, let us take into account that they had the audacity to put together the Sony RX100 camera (which in Poland costs almost PLN 2,000). I have been watching live debuts of new flagships for almost 5 years and I do not remember anyone having dared to do so before.
I was also amused by the arrogance of Xiaomi, because during the premiere they laconically stated that comparing the photos taken with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with other flagships on the market does not make any sense, because the result is a foregone conclusion. I wonder what the reviewers will say about it. One thing is obvious – Xiaomi is very much of its photographic abilities.

The second thing is that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra can not be attached to any element of the specification. Literally none, because even complaining about the lack of a microSD card slot with such an amount of memory for data does not make sense. Watertight? Just like the rest of the flagships. Fast charging? No, it’s incredibly fast – the 5000mAh battery is fully charged in 36 minutes.
Maybe wireless charging? Shock – just as fast as replenishing energy via the cable. It seems to me that here Xiaomi flew a bit with marketing and simply programmatically limited the possibility of wired charging. However, this does not change the fact that it is extremely fast.

What else distinguishes the flagships from the rest of the rate? Vibration. Xiaomi claims that those in Mi 11 Ultra are even better than in Xiaomi Mi 11. I just had the opportunity to spend a bit more time with this model and I find that if the Ultra is even better, it is simply the best. Neither is mine Samsung Galaxy S21, Neither the iPhone 12 Pro Max are in any way better than the usual “eleven”.

Finally, I left the specification as it does not matter at all – except maybe one point. During the premiere, Xiaomi spent a lot of time explaining that the Snapdragon 888 does not overheat in their model. It is as if someone else had doubts that this system is a small stove.
Is the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra too expensive then? Well – 1199 euros is a lot of money, but you have to remember that Oppo Find X3 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra or iPhone 12 Pro Max are not cheaper at all. Do you want a cheap flagship? Well, Xiaomi Mi 11 is for you, but the Ultra is not created for such a user.
Each piece of equipment screams that it is the best smartphone on the market. It has enormous potential and although it is not for me due to its size, I just can’t help but love it.
