Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra should “shock” the public

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is revealed in a leak where we learn that it would be its first smartphone with a camera under the screen. Small glimpse of this beast which apparently succeeded in uniting camera and big performances under the same slab!

It has become a great classic with each release of a smartphone: the first instinct of many observers is to watch the top of the screen in search of a punch or a notch. These front camera layouts still suffer from a bad reputation, and manufacturers scramble to hide those elements deemed unsightly. This is the case of Xiaomi, which also operates a spectacular about-face. While the Chinese manufacturer still judged this impossible a few months ago, it should release a first device with an entirely invisible camera, placed under the screen.

This is in any case what the famous teased leaker of the Ice Universe smartphone world, posting on Twitter that the future Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra was going “Shock the world”. Quickly, the specialist in the world of screens Ross Young completed this nebulous message by explaining that the device would be “Certainly the first with a camera under the screen.” However, he specifies that it will probably only be a demonstration device, or that it will be produced in very few copies.

A (very) high-end technical sheet

Some images and characteristics of the device are already available on the Weibo social network. We notice that this version of the smartphone is equipped with what appears to be a periscope, with a sensor stamped “120x”. This is even more than the Space Zoom x100 of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra; It will be interesting to see if Xiaomi does better than its Korean counterpart in this regard, as the Space Zoom was not mature enough to be really useful and was more of a gadget. The rest of the photo block will include three other sensors, namely a main sensor of 48 Mpx, an ultra wide-angle of 108 Mpx and a portrait sensor.

For the rest, it is undoubtedly a high-end technical sheet. A 120 Hz AMOLED panel should offer a top level display. In terms of performance, we will be entitled to a maximum of 16 GB of RAM. No Snapdragon 865+ however, but an 865… overclocked. Do not worry, this is not a concession since the performances are apparently at the rendezvous: according to Tom’s Guide, the beast would reach the breathtaking score of 689.455 points on AnTuTu, one of the benchmarks of the mobile benchmark. For reference, it is 13% more than the OPPO Find X2 Pro which currently trusts the first place of the Android ranking, available here. And the icing on the cake, it should be equipped with Xiaomi’s famous ultra-fast charging with a terrifying 100W wired, for 55W wireless. Enough to recharge it in two steps, three movements … or make a small plancha six and a half inches!
