Xiaomi had officially confirmed that it would unveil the new Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro models on December 1 in China, but the launch was delayed a few hours before the scheduled presentation. The reason was that former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin died at the age of 96 and the country declared national mourning.
New date: Sunday 11 December
Now a new date has been announced and it is Sunday 11th December. Then Xiaomi will show the new phones, at 12.00 Swedish time. However, the launch event is entirely aimed at the Chinese market, so it will be just like previous years before getting a launch in Sweden and Europe. The event will therefore be held entirely in Chinese, but details and pictures in connection with this will of course be known.
In addition to the phones, the new MIUI 14 and the Xiaomi Buds 4 earphones will also be shown at the same time. According to what was previously leaked, two models will initially be shown – Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro – plus there are rumors that a Xiaomi 13S Ultra could be presented next year. Xiaomi has also previously confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 will have a flat OLED display with 1.61mm thick metal edges.
Xiaomi 13 is expected to have a 6.2-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and support for 120Hz. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is integrated with 12 gigabytes of working memory and 256 gigabytes of storage, as well as a 4700mAh battery with charging fast 120W wired.
A few hours before the original launch day, Xiaomi teased the camera details of the Xiaomi 13 Pro. It will use Sony’s one-inch IMX989 sensor and Leica lens, 75mm telephoto lens and f/2.0 aperture. More details coming Sunday.
