Xiaomi Launches Redmi K50 and K50 Pro, the price?

After starting the K50 series with Redmi K50 Gaming earlier this year, Xiaomi has finally announced the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro smartphones. These two smartphones share the same body and mostly on their key specs although the Pro has a lot more impressive appeal.

Xiaomi is so confident to mix the Redmi K50 Pro with the support of the Dimensity 9000 chipset in it. As we all know, the chipset made by MediaTek was developed with 4nm TSMC fabrication and boasts an ARM Cortex-X2 core with a clock speed of up to 3.05Ghz.

Not only that, Xiaomi also provided the smartphone with a seven-layer vapor chamber cooling system to keep the temperature under control. Meanwhile, the Redmi K50 is only equipped with the Dimensity 8100 chipset which was announced by MediaTek earlier this month.

The similarity, both smartphones come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and have a QHD + resolution (3200 x 1440px) and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen panel is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and both smartphones also have the same 20 MP Sony IMX596 selfie camera sensor.

Redmi K50 Pro carries a 108 MP main camera with OIS, using a large 1/1.52-inch Samsung sensor. It is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro camera. While the Redmi K50 comes with a 48 MP Sony IMX 582 which is also added with OIS and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro.

Both smartphones also carry Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and MIUI 13 interface. The Redmi K50 Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging that can charge the battery from 0 – 100% in just 19 minutes. Meanwhile, the K50 has a larger 5,500 mAh battery with 67W charging.

Then, what about the color choices? The Redmi K50 series comes in four color options, of which the Black color features a nano-microcrystalline back design with sparkling ice crystal elements. There are also Green, Silver and Blue colors that are no less interesting.

For the price, the Redmi K50 Pro starts at CNY 2,999 (Rp 6.7 million) for 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The 8 GB/256 GB version sells for CNY 3,299 (Rp 7.4 million) while the 12 GB/512 GB variant sells for CNY 3,999 (Rp 9 million).

As for the Redmi K50, this smartphone is offered starting at CNY 2,399 (Rp 5.4 million) for the 8 GB RAM variant and 128 GB of internal storage. For consumers who are interested in buying a higher variant, namely 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage, it is offered at a price of CNY 2,799 (Rp 6.3 million).
