And it also folds in the other direction to become a very thin product that can be attached around the wrist.
The Mi Band X is a project at Xiaomi of a bracelet with a flexible screen
This is what Xiaomi could offer in the medium term. The company has indeed organized an internal meeting from which the photo below is taken. The subject of this meeting is a project called Mi Band X. It is a connected bracelet whose screen is flexible and rotates ” 360 ° Around the wrist. This will considerably increase the display surface.

No strap would be provided to hang the bracelet: it would be replaced by a magnetic system which, according to Xiaomi, would be more comfortable to wear. Finally, the presentation claims that the product is ” extremely thin and light “. It will still be necessary to integrate the screen, battery, components, sensors, hinge and chassis. In short, it won’t be a feather either.
The idea of integrating a curved, even flexible, screen into a connected product to be fixed around the wrist is not new. Over the years, we have seen several patents and projects relating to accessories connected with curved or even flexible bracelets. From 2013, Motorola was filing a patent for a watch with a flexible display. In 2017, it is Samsung’s turn to file one. Then, last March, we reported that Apple had obtained a patent that could radically change the design of Apple Watch.

But it is to Nubia that we owe the first “hybrid” product with a flexible screen, half connected bracelet, half smartphone. it’s about the Nubia Alpha, presented in february 2019 on the occasion of Mobile World Congress.
