Jakarta (ANTARA) – Xiaomi has submitted a patent to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a new concept for a roll-up mobile phone that they are carrying.
The Xiaomi-style scroll phone in the patent, quoted from Phone Arena, Thursday, allows the screen to be rolled up from the left and right. With a concept like this, the phone does not need a flexible panel so that the device can take the form of a phone, but functions as a tablet.
The concept brought by Xiaomi also allows the phone to have several aspect ratio sizes. When only one side is opened, the phone will have a 16:9 ratio, which can be used for viewing.
When the two sides are opened, the phone will be square and can be used for reading or drawing.
The location of the camera becomes more complicated on a roll phone, in this patent, Xiaomi places two to three cameras in the center horizontally.
