jpnn.com – Xiaomi continues to test electric car made before officially entering the global market with a production model next year.
Reportedly, the Chinese technology giant is also developing an electric car with the longest range.

Xiaomi’s upcoming electric car will come in two types of powertrain, namely battery electric and extended-range (longer range).
This plan is in line with news that Xiaomi is recruiting engineers in China to develop a range extender (EREV) in electric vehicles.

It is stated that the entry-level model of the Xiaomi electric car will use a 400V voltage platform and BYD Blade battery, while the high-end model will adopt an 800V voltage platform and a CATL Qilin battery with a capacity of 101kWh.
Meanwhile, the extended-range version is expected to be equipped with a 1.5L or 1.5T range extender and a large battery.

The range extender on the Xiaomi electric car uses the petrol engine as an electric generator to charge the vehicle battery.
Xiaomi’s first car is expected to have a coupe design that is popular among the younger generation.
The car will have a low and sleek profile, with a longer front and a sportier rear.
The car will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, Bluetooth 5.2 support, USB media features and Apple CarPlay.
Mass production is expected to begin in 2024, and the car has reportedly entered the trial production phase, with around 50 prototype cars being produced each week. (gizmochina/ant/jpnn)
