Xiaomi has not only announced a new POCO phone today, it also reports that POCO will continue under its own name from now on. The POCO M3 is the first model that has to stand on its own two feet. It is an affordable smartphone with a sharp screen and large battery.
Xiaomi believes it is time for the brand to stand on its own feet after 6 million POCO phones sold. POCO is already active in 35 countries, which is quite clever when you consider that it has only been active for 3 years. The POCO M3 will certainly increase the popularity of the brand, especially since the device has to cost only 149 euros. But what do you get for that?
From POCO M3 has a 6.53-inch screen with a neat Full HD + resolution. That is sharper than HD + screens with which some competitors are equipped. The 8MP selfie camera is located in a notch at the top. On the back, our eye falls on a large black surface in which the camera modules are incorporated. It is about 48MP main camera, 2MP depth camera and 2MP macro lens. Basically the usual trio in this price segment. There is a night mode and slow motion video.
POCO M3 price and availability
The battery is on the large side with 6000mAh. Nevertheless, we (fortunately) do not immediately see this reflected in the weight. At 198 grams, it remains just below the 200 gram limit. The device is powered by a Qualcomm 662 processor, the same chipset as in the Moto G9 Power which is also reasonable with the other specifications M2 matches. The working memory comes out at 4GB and there is a choice of 64 and 128GB storage memory. The first must cost 149 euros, the last 169 euros. The POCO M3 will be in stores from 3 December.
