Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Note 9T, its cheapest 5G phone to date. The phone with MediaTek Dimensity 800U-soc comes out for 229 euros. Xiaomi is also coming with a Redmi 9T without 5G.
The Redmi Note 9T and Redmi 9 both have the ability to charge at 18W, but Xiaomi ships a 22.5W charger with the phones. Xiaomi has paired MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U-soc with 4GB of Lpddr4x memory and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage or 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 9T can handle 5G on both SIM cards at the same time, something that is currently not possible with many 5G phones.
More antennas are needed for 5G and it is noticeable that Xiaomi seems to save on space by removing a camera compared to the predecessor; the camera with ultra-wide angle lens is missing on the phone. The cheaper Redmi 9T does. Xiaomi has equipped that phone with a Snapdragon 662-soc from Qualcomm, coupled with 4GB of RAM of an unknown type.
Both phones have the same 19.5: 9 LCD with 2340×1080 pixels with a diagonal of 6.53 “. Xiaomi releases the Redmi 9T for 169 euros, while the Redmi Note 9T with 5G comes out for 229 euros in the cheapest configuration.
