Xiaomi has not kept an eye on the shape of its next flagship
The Xiaomi 14 smartphone will attract straight sides and thin frames around the display
The four cameras will be tuned by the Leica company
We are only two days away from the unveiling of the Xiaomi 14 series smartphones. We know most of the parameters from earlier leaks, but the manufacturer has managed to keep the appearance a secret, so far we have only seen a few unofficial renders. In the end, however, the press images and several accompanying marketing materials also reached the Internet ahead of time.
Xiaomi 14 impresses with ultra-thin frames around the display
Xiaomi should introduce two new phones on Thursday – the basic Xiaomi 14 and the more equipped Xiaomi 14 Pro. While the latter successfully resists leaks (so far), the basic variant is revealed in all its glory.
The Xiaomi 14 will be a relatively compact phone. It will be equipped with a display with a diagonal of 6.36″, which will also be surrounded by ultra-thin frames – their thickness should be only 1.61-1.71 mm. In this category, the Chinese manufacturer surpasses even the recently introduced iPhone 15 Pro, for which Apple paid particular attention to the reduction of bezels.
Comparison of Xiaomi 14 frames and the latest iPhones
Following the pattern of iPhones, the upcoming Xiaomi will also get straight sides and a raised square module with cameras. Their equipment has not yet been confirmed, but the following line-up is speculated:
50 Mpx main (OmniVision OV50H) with f/1.6 aperture and optical stabilization 50 Mpx wide-angle 50 Mpx telephoto lens with 75 mm focal length
Once again, we can look forward to cooperation with the Leica brand, and according to the published photos, we can expect really high-quality images from this lineup.
The Xiaomi 14 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which recently demonstrated its power in the GeekBench benchmark – this chip should be presented as early as tonight at the traditional Snapdragon summit.
With the Xiaomi 14, we can also look forward to fast UFS 4.0 and LPDDR5X memories and support for fast and wireless charging with a maximum power of 90 and 50 watts. There is also talk of the presence of an infrared port, stereo speakers and IP68 resistance. The phone will run a brand new HyperOS system that will replace the current MIUI environment.
The Xiaomi 14 series of smartphones will have their Chinese premiere on Thursday, however, according to the trailers, the global premiere should not be long in coming.
