The reason is that Xiaomi wants this latest handset to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC as a powerhouse instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
Tipster twitter account @Shadow_leaks which is believed to be quite accurate with the leaks revealing that, there will still be several leaks in the future related to some specifications and rendering concepts of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
Furthermore, the tipster also stated that this latest Xiaomi smartphone will come with a 2K E5 AMOLED screen with a stretch of 6.73 inches and will use LTPO 2.0 technology. The display will support a 120Hz refresh rate and will be given 10-bit color support.

Tipster also added that the handset will come with a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor for both the main camera and the ultrawide camera. It is also said that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be equipped with a 16 MP portrait lens and a 48 MP IMX586 telephoto camera.
The camera setup leaked by tipster @Shadow_leaks is quite different from previous leaks leaked by other tipsters.
In his statement, the tipster stated that this latest Xiaomi smartphone will carry a triple camera setup similar to the camera setup on the Xiaomi 11 Ultra whose main sensor uses a 50 MP camera, 48 MP for the ultrawide camera, and for the telephoto camera it uses a 40 MP sensor.
The tipster also added that the Xioami 12 Ultra is likely to hit the market with a 5000 mAh battery and is equipped with 120W fast charging support. In addition, this device will also be equipped with stereo speakers that have IP68 water and dust resistance certification.
