Xiaomi has launched its new 12-series in several rounds. First time just before New Year when Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro were presented in the Chinese domestic market. Then a couple of weeks ago, when Xiaomi held a virtual launch for the entire European market. And most recently yesterday, when the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer had invited journalists from both the Nordic countries and from Central and Eastern Europe to Vienna to look at the new mobile phones.
There we were told that both the new models – Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro – will be released on the Nordic market. They can be pre-ordered from 6 April and will appear in stores on 21 April.
Xiaomi with lightning fast charging

A powerful processor
Both phones are powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most advanced processor architecture with 4nm technology: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (same processor that sits in, among other things Motorola Edge 30 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro). Compared to the previous generation, graphics performance is increased by 30 percent and energy efficiency by 25 percent, Xiaomi promises.
The Pro model also has a 120-watt HyperCharge, which in laboratory tests has been able to charge the 4600 mAh battery to 100% in just 18 minutes.
Xiaomi 12 has 67 watts of charging capacity in its 4500 mAh battery. Both phones support 50-watt wireless charging.
Sharp images
The main camera in both models consists of a camera body with three lenses. Both have a 50 Mp wide-angle camera with support for 8K video recording.
In Xiaomi 12 Pro, all three lenses have 50 MP and the Sony IMX707 sensor should give the mobile camera a better ability to capture light and color, as well as fast focusing speed.
In addition to the main camera, the 12 Pro has an ultra-wide-angle camera and a telephoto lens.
The Xiaomi 12’s main camera is complemented by a 13 Mp ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5 Mp telemacro lens.
Both mobiles have AMOLED screens, which among other things support Dolby Vision and HDR + and are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
The screen on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is 6.73 inches and has WQHD + resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels), while the Xiaomi 12 has to settle for 6.28 inches and FHD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels). Both support a refresh rate of 129 Hz.
Price and availability
As I said, both mobiles can be bought from 21 April.
The price for Xiaomi 12 with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage will be SEK 8,700, while Xiaomi 12 Pro with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs SEK 11,500.
Both models are available in black, purple and blue.
