/ world today news/ Yesterday in Guangdong Province, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, met with representatives of the naval forces of the Southern Military Zone of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
After listening to a presentation on the construction of naval forces in the region, the Chinese president gave high praise for the development and transformation of the military and the performance of relevant tasks since the 18th CPC Congress. He stressed the need to evaluate military issues from a political perspective, improve the ability to respond to complex situations in a timely and appropriate manner, and resolutely protect the country’s territorial sovereignty in order to maintain overall stability in the region.
Xi Jinping called for the strengthening of military exercises as well as the development of new combat capabilities and equipment to enhance overall military readiness.
The Chinese leader also pointed out that the leadership role of the Chinese Communist Party over the military should be strengthened and the construction of new cadres and teams should be supported to stimulate the development of the maritime forces of the Southern Military Zone.
