Xenophobic Tag Discovered on PCF Premises in Paris: Far-Right Blamed and Condemned by Elected Officials

Friday, June 9 in the morning, PCF activists discovered a xenophobic tag inscribed on the walls of the premises located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. Several elected officials from different political sides attribute these acts to the far right and condemn them.

“Migrants hors d’Europe” : this is the inscription discovered by militants of the French Communist Party (PCF) on the walls of their premises, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.

The tag was made during the night of Thursday 8 to Friday 9 June. Other anti-Semitic and racist tags were also made the same night, a few kilometers away.

“Activists are very touchedsays Nicolas Bonnet Oulaldj, who published a tweet on Friday about it. Especially since there were also anti-Semitic and racist tags that were made the same night on the Place d’Aligre.

For the president of the PCF group at the Paris Council, there is no doubt as to the authors of these inscriptions. “These clearly xenophobic inscriptions accompanied by Celtic crosses are the hallmark of the far rightthunders the elected. I think it is in reaction to what happened in Annecy because since the knife attack committed by this Syrian refugee, there is a deleterious atmosphere fueled by the far right.

Since the publication of the tweet by Nicolas Bonnet Oulaldj, several elected officials from different political sides have expressed their indignation at the realization of these xenophobic and anti-Semitic tags. From Europe Ecologie Les Verts (EELV) to Renaissance via the Socialist Party (PS) and the Communist Party (PC), many condemn and some attribute these actions to the far right.

“All my support to @Bonnet_Oulaldj and @PCF. These shameful and nauseating inscriptions have no place in Paris. We will never give in to hatred, racism and anti-Semitism.”tweeted in particular the PS mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.

“A climate of hate, racism, xenophobia is growing everywhere in France, against mayors, deputies but also the seats of the PCF. Full support for @Bonnet_Oulaldj and the Parisian communists targeted by these unbearable insults”abounds Fabien Roussel, national secretary of the PCF.

Or : “These attacks against the premises of Nupes member parties are unacceptable, solidarity with @PCF of the 12th arrondissement”reacted Alexis Corbière, deputy La France Insoumise (LFI) of Seine-Saint-Denis.

Reactions welcomed by the president of the PCF group at the Paris Council. “All the Republican parties must no longer allow this kind of remark to pass, we can no longer let that happen.”, hammers the elected communist. This Friday, the manager of the degraded premises went to the police station in the 12th arrondissement of Paris to file a complaint.
