Only nine days before (re) discovering Xenoblade Chronicles with its “final edition” on Switch, which justifies its status with HD graphics, improvements in comfort (interface, gameplay …), the possibility of choosing between music original and arranged or an original epilogue called Un Avenir Commun. The latter, and more precisely its lifespan, is mentioned in the last Weekly Famitsu.
In the columns of Japanese magazine, we can read that it will be necessary to count between 10 and 12 hours to complete this epilogue by focusing only on the story (centered around the character of Melia), and about 20 hours including the annexed content. The director Tetsuya Takahashi indicates that it would have been possible to make it longer, and therefore to allocate more resources to its creation, but that the development of the other projects in progress at Monolith Soft “would have been affected”.
He explains that the studio’s “First Production” team, dedicated to the Xenoblade saga, is divided into three sections: one works on Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, the second on a “new title”, and the third on both. A job offer for the next RPG of Monolith Soft was recalled in October 2018. The studio also has a “Second Production” team which contributes to the development of The Legend of Zelda games. Again, vacancies for the franchise have been spotted last year.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is scheduled for May 29 on Nintendo Switch. He will be accompanied by collector’s edition.
