Xbox: with video games they do therapy for disabled children

Microsoft announced last Monday its new collaboration between Xbox and the NGO Gamers Outreach to create a program called Beyond Xbox: Therapeutic Play. This will support multiple children and adolescents in medical treatments, therapies and rehabilitation in different hospitals in the United States

On the other hand, Microsoft Gaming also presented a new documentary titled Beyond Xbox: A Player Like Me, showing the value of video games for two people who are distant from each other, but who share the same health condition and the same passion for video games.

Gamer Outreach and Microsoft Gaming have provided multiple handicap-accessible video game consoles to hundreds of hospitals across the United States. The meaning of this is that video games are part of their recovery process, but not as a distraction factor for children.

Microsoft Gaming is known for offering multiple accessibility options, such as its adaptive controlprimarily designed to meet the needs of players with limited mobility.

Xbox Game Studios games also include multiple accessibility features, such as Forza Horizon 5 with sign language support in all game scenes, or full customization of controller and display settings in Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
