This month’s Xbox update is here, bringing with it a 4K area for Xbox Series X consoles, an Xbox night mode that lets you dim the screen and controller power button, and more. These are updates that the community has been asking for for some time, and that have finally been brought to the console.
The most significant change here, at least for Xbox Series X owners, is the new 4K dashboard. If you’re using a 4K screen with your console, you’ve probably noticed that the panel doesn’t look great because it’s been scaled up from 1080p to 4K.
After installing this month’s update, the Dashboard, Guide and other menus will be rendered natively in 4K, allowing for greater clarity and improved text readability.
Then there’s Xbox Night Mode, which is “a set of settings that adjusts light sources to help keep rooms dark at night and supports gamers who are sensitive to light,” according to the latter. post do Xbox Wire.
After installing the update, you will be able to dim and add filters (the blue light filter is only available on Xbox Series X | S consoles) to your connected monitor and also dim or even turn off the power buttons on the controller and console.
You can also set up a Night Mode schedule that dynamically switches between light and dark subjects. All these settings can be found in Settings > Accessibility > Night mode or Settings > TV & display options > Night mode.
Finally, in a move toward greater accessibility for users, Microsoft is adding the Quick Settings menu to the Xbox Guide, allowing you to toggle accessibility features without having to exit a game or app. All these updates are now available.
