E3 will return to its face-to-face format after three years of absence, although with significant casualties. A few months ago a report that none of the three big console manufacturers would be at the event and little by little official confirmations have arrived that this information was true.
Now it was Microsoft who confirmed its absence from E3 2023although he will not completely abandon the event organized by ESA and Reedpop.
Xbox will only support the digital version of E3 2023
In a statement to IGNXbox confirmed that it will not be on the E3 2023 show floor and reiterated that its summer showcase will coincide with the week of the event to support the digital version of the ESA video game fair.
“We’re looking forward to hosting our Xbox Games Showcase on June 11 and will share more details later. We also hope to stream our event as part of E3 Digital but we won’t be on the show floor.”
On the PlayStation side there have been no statements, but PlayStation has already been absent from E3 since its last face-to-face edition. Nintendo ya confirmed that they won’t go to E3 eitherbecause although they consider themselves allies of the event and of the ESA, this year E3 does not align with their plans.
If all things happen as in 2019, Xbox would have at the Microsoft Theater – right across the street from the Los Angeles Convention Center – their own event with gaming stations, media interviews and displays for their communities as an E3 satellite event. In 2019 Microsoft still had a presence inside the E3 floor with a dedicated Mixer booth located in the former space occupied by Xbox.
We remind you that, in addition to your Sunday June 11 showcasea stream is also planned completely dedicated to Starfield at the end of the main presentation.
