Microsoft’s latest gaming consoles – Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – offer a really juicy backwards compatibility offering. The computers can run just about any game from previous Xbox generations, and jaggu works on old PlayStation and Nintendo games as well.
The discovery was made by some eager souls who played with the developer mode of Xbox Series X / S. This can run programs built for Universal Windows Platform, which includes emulator solutions such as RetroArch.

With the door ajar, it did not take long before players managed to sneak in support for the PlayStation 2 emulator PCSX2, The work to get everything running smoothly is still going on, but as you can see in the video to the right is a bunch of games already available.
In the video goes Modern Vintage Gamer through a series of classic PlayStation 2 games that he plays on his Xbox Series S. The list includes God of War, Ace Combat 4, Metal Gear Solid 2, Shadow of the Colossus and many more.
As a number of gaming fans have pointed out, it’s a bit ironic that the Xbox Series X / S can run PlayStation 2 games, while PlayStation 5 cannot. Sony’s latest console also boasts a backward compatibility feature, but this only covers PlayStation 4 games.
