Charging times on the Xbox Series X compared to the One X are absurd.
Earlier this week, the first hands-on reviews of the Xbox Series X came out and man, they were straightforward. Almost all media outlets were impressed with the console, for example in the context of it playing One X games at Series X. But this November, players will also have more time to actually play, instead of looking at loading screens. TheVerge namely also tested the Xbox Series X loading times. And man, they are so fast.
Xbox Series X loading times
The Xbox Series X and the cheaper Series S both have the same lightning-fast SSD on which games are stored. Also the (very expensive) Expansion Card uses the same specs in terms of compression and reading speed. This will contribute to an incredibly smooth gaming experience, the linked medium discovers.
With a few exceptions, all tested games load more than twice as fast if you compare the Xbox Series X with the One X. Some games even load 4 times as fast. In the graph below you can check the loading times of different games on the Xbox Series X, compared to the One X (@TheVerge).

Take Sea of Thieves, for example, which used to take almost a minute and a half to load. Now the game can be played within 20 seconds. This means that you have to wait 75% less long, which can give you many hours of extra fun over the next-gen period.
Optimization not yet complete
But the story gets better. Many of the tested games are not even optimized for the Xbox Series X. That could probably lead to even better Xbox Series X loading times and better performance.
The Xbox Series X and Series S will be in stores November 10. Then it will also become clear whether the loading times of next-gen games are so absurdly fast. After all, the test concerns ‘old’ games.
