“Xbox Series X Halves Game Load Times According to Early Tests” | NOW

The new Xbox Series X game console halves the loading times of many older games. This is evident from tests with the new game computer by, among others The Verge.

Microsoft has long promised that games on the Xbox Series X should load much faster. Now that independent journalists have tested the game console, it has become clear exactly how big the difference is.

The Xbox game Assassin’s Creed Odyssey starts up in thirty seconds, for example, while the same title on the previous generation game console took more than a minute.

The same goes for space shooter Destiny 2, which boots in 43 seconds. The original takes almost two minutes to load in the first level.

Tests of, among others Gamespot show even more impressive differences. The famous cowboy game Red Dead Redemption 2 needs 38 seconds instead of two minutes. Final Fantasy XV boots in thirteen seconds, while the Xbox One X takes one minute longer.

Sometimes a smaller difference

In some games the difference is smaller, such as Call of Duty: Warzone. It loads in 21 seconds on the Xbox One X and is only five seconds faster on the Series X.

The Xbox Series X can play a lot of the previously released games, but some titles don’t seem to work on the new console yet.

Available in November

Microsoft will be selling the Xbox Series X starting November 10 this year. At the same time, a cheaper Xbox Series S is introduced that plays games at a lower resolution.

Competitor Sony will also offer its new PlayStation 5 for sale in November.
