In 2020 and 2021, no first-party title will be released exclusively for Xbox Seriex X. On the Podcast Gamertag Radio, he explained that Microsoft did not want to focus on the device, but on the player. This strategy started in 2016 when Microsoft made the most important Xbox releases available for the PC. The goal is to reach as large an audience as possible and to become the widest point of contact for players with the largest selection of games regardless of the device.

He compared the approach to the PC. There is also no discussion about exclusivity there. Many games would therefore use the latest technology, but could also be played on older hardware with the appropriate settings. “We wanted to build a game console that brought the best possible TV and unique opportunities for game designers.
