Xbox Series S version of Baldur’s Gate III misses out on split-screen gaming, but there’s still hope

Last week we finally got the good news that the masterpiece Baldur’s Gate III is coming to Xbox Series S/X this fall (it’s already out on PC and launching on PlayStation 5 on September 6th). However, there is a catch.

It turns out that the Xbox Series S version will miss out on split-screen gaming, as this feature will be removed in this version (it will be included in the Xbox Series X). Most probably assumed that was the end of the story, but thankfully the official Xbox account on X decided to clear things up over the weekend, explaining that they will “continue to work with Larian to explore the possibility of adding split screen to Series S after launch”.

Basically, there is still a chance that the Xbox Series S will also get split screen, but if it happens, it will be after the launch.
