Famitsu publishes the sales figures of the various consoles in Japan every week. The figures from 9 to 25 May show a striking profit for Microsoft, according to Reset.
Where the PS5 has only sold a total of 2693 times a week – 2240 editions with disc tray and 453 copies without – the Xbox Series S well surpasses that with 6120 consoles sold. That’s also a lot more than the big brother, because the Xbox Series X has only been sold 105 times in the past week. The sales figures are indicative of the shortages of the PlayStation 5, because PlayStation consoles are normally not available in Japan.
The manufacturer that beats Sony and Microsoft by force majeure is Nintendo. Despite the fact that the Nintendo Switch is already five years old, the console continues to sell like hot cakes. Last week the Nintendo Switch OLED was sold 35,868 times, the normal Switch 20,443 times and the Nintendo Switch Lite sold 9011 copies. This brings sales of the Switch to 65,322 over one week in Japan.
Switch dominates software sales

The list is led by a distance Nintendo Switch Sportswhich was recently launched and already can be obtained with a discount† The sports game is followed by Kirby and the Forgotten Land in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
