We have been telling you for a long time that Microsoft and Xbox are working on a device that can be connected to screens, televisions and monitors to offer Game Pass without the need for a computer or a console. Today, this becomes more credible than ever, as the companies themselves have just confirmed it.
You see, a few hours ago, Twitter user Tero Allen found a mention of something called “Xbox Keystone” in some OS update files. At first this doesn’t say much, but the guys at Windows Central They contacted Microsoft, who through a spokesperson confirmed that Keystone is indeed their project to facilitate Game Pass, and that work continues on it although it is not yet ready.

This is what Microsoft said:
“Our vision for Xbox Cloud Gaming is unwavering, our goal is to enable people to play the games they want, on the devices they want, anywhere they want. As announced last year, we’ve been working on a streaming device game codenamed Keystone that could plug into any TV or monitor without the need for a console.
Apparently the device had already been in development for a long time, but something happened and it had to be redesigned. For this reason, everything indicates that Keystone will still take some time to reach our hands, although the company did not explain what happened:
“We have made the decision to move away from the current iteration of the Keystone device. We will take our learnings and refocus our efforts on a new approach that will allow us to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to more gamers around the world in the future.”
While Sony and Nintendo use the quality of their proprietary games to encourage people to buy their consoles, Microsoft is doing the opposite: its goal is that anyone can play Game Pass, regardless of whether they have a computer, a console, or a mobile phone. .. or just screen.
