It has been claimed that Xbox is planning a revival of the franchise Banjo-Kazooie.
speaking on the podcast Nate the Hate, ModernVintageGamer, a respected content creator and developer in NightDive Studios, stated that he had heard of a revival of the franchise and that it might be announced during the presentation of Xbox y Bethesda on Sunday.
“Banjo will be at this show and it will be announced,” MVG said.
“I’ve talked to a lot of people, and I’m not an expert, I’m a developer, but sometimes I hear things and I was at GDC earlier this year and there were some people talking about Banjo.
“I’ve heard that Banjo is coming for months now, from different people. Something is going on with Banjo, what I can’t tell you is what that is”, admitting that he is not sure if it is a new title or a collection of old games.
“I strongly believe there will be a Banjo ad on this show, because man, I keep hearing about Banjo,” he reiterated before discussing Microsoft’s lack of family-friendly titles and how Banjo could fill that void.
While it was dormant for a few years after its last original game, the franchise Banjo-Kazooie has been more prominent lately.
Earlier this year, the first game in the series was added to Nintendo Switch Online, and Banjo y Kazooie were added as playable characters to Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
In 2020, Phil Spencer said that any revival of the classic franchises of Rare depended on Rare. “I leave it up to the studios in terms of the things they want to work on,” he said. Spencer.
“I have a lot of respect for Rare and the work they do. They like to build new things and have had success with Sea of Thieves. I think they’re very excited about Everwild.
“But also the response to Battletoads was nice. And I think that [el estudio asociado] Dlala did a good job with the game. And I think it’s always a balance. My inbox is full of: ‘Let each studio make a new [propiedad intelectual]’. And also: ‘Why did you bring back Crimson Skies and Blinx?’
