Xbox is considering improving the driver – Zing

While Sony, along with the PlayStation 5, also released the DualSense driver, which introduced new features such as adaptive trigger or haptic response, The Xbox stuck to what worked. The driver for the Xbox Series is practically identical to the driver for the Xbox One, the only difference being the D-pad and the USB-C port, which replaced the micro USB. But maybe that will change.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer praised rival PlayStation in podcast Kinda Funny Gamescast and talked about possible driver improvements for Xbox:

We are definitely considering different devices that would get more games in more places. We’ll probably work on the driver a bit. I think Sony did a good job with their driver, we looked at some of it and we think there are things we should do.

This is not the first time we have talked about a potential improvement for an Xbox gamepad, but the question is, when will we get it? From Spencer’s words, it looks like they haven’t even started the development yet, so we’ll probably have to wait a while.
