Social network users X (Twitter) suspected Xbox in promoting indie games using art created by artificial intelligence. The corresponding promotion was noticed on the official account ID@Xboxbut it has already been deleted.
Critics pointed out mustachioed children, strange black stripes and other elements that clearly indicate that the art was not created by a “real” artist. Users noted that in order to support indie games, Xbox should actually support the work of the developers, and not resort to lazy and insincere advertising.
Although the controversial image has disappeared from the ID@Xbox account, Microsoft has not yet commented on the situation, despite media request.
The company’s interest in artificial intelligence is not new, and Xbox itself has long been actively exploring new opportunities in this area. Meanwhile, the Microsoft-OpenAI partnership has attracted the attention of the UK Competition and Markets Authority.
