Xavi Reveals How Barcelona Players Feel After Falling In The Europa League

Barcelona experienced embarrassing things at home when Eintracht Frankfurt was kicked out of the Europa League. The Blaugrana felt like they had been robbed of their own home.

Barcelona host Frankfurt at Camp Nou in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, Friday (15/4/2022) early morning WIB. The first leg match at Frankfurt headquarters ended in a 1-1 draw.

Frankfurt played not like at the opponent’s headquarters because according to various reports there were 30 thousand supporters who came directly to the stadium stands. As a result, the German team was able to win 3-2 and advance to the semifinals with a 4-3 aggregate.

Xavi Hernandez explained further the situation of the team in the match ahead of against Cadiz at Camp Nou, Tuesday (19/4/2022) early morning WIB. The coach said the team felt like they had been robbed at home.

“The players don’t feel like playing at home. Not an excuse, but an atmosphere that conditions us. We weren’t comfortable. I had a bad feeling from the first time I got on the bus at the hotel and we didn’t feel at home,” Xavi said as quoted by ESPN.

“They threw everything at us, (the players) couldn’t even go down the tunnel. Then we gave a penalty in the first minute.”

“It was a defining night in every way, sporting and institutional. It started badly and ended badly. You feel robbed in your own home,” Xavi explained.
