Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and most recently Jules Kounde: Barça already brought in numerous top stars in the 2022 transfer summer. According to Xavi, more commitments are planned.
“We have already strengthened our squad, but we have a long season ahead of us. We play every three days and in the middle of the season there is the World Cup,” explained the Barça coach on the Catalans’ USA tour.

“I said that I would like two players in each position and a competition,” continued the 42-year-old: “So we want to continue to strengthen the team.”

If you look at the squad, the offensive department and midfield are already sufficiently occupied. Just like the central defense. Jordi Alba lacks a competitor at left-back if young Alex Balde is left out.
At right-back, Xavi is still looking for the ideal solution after leaving Dani Alves. Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta (both Chelsea FC) are said to be Xavi’s preferred options for full-back.
