Alves played for Barcelona between 2008 and 2016 and experienced the glory years in which the club made an indelible impression with, among others, Andrés Iniesta, Xavi and Lionel Messi.
The wing back played 391 games for Barcelona during that period and scored 23 times. He won the Champions League three times with the club and was champion of Spain six times.
After his departure from Barcelona, Alves played successively for Juventus, Paris-Saint-Germain and São Paulo.
Alves can still do it
That Alves hasn’t forgotten about playing football became clear last summer when he won gold with Brazil at the Olympic Games. Alves did not miss a minute of the six games in Tokyo.
The 119-time international is also still in the picture with the Brazilian team. Although Alves has not often played for the Divine Canaries in recent years, he played for half an hour on September 10 in the World Cup qualifier against Peru.
