Barcelona held to a draw by Celta Vigo despite winning three goals earlier. new coach of Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez, said it should never happen again.
Barcelona traveled to the headquarters of Celta Vigo in the Spanish League last weekend. Competing at the Abanca-Balaidos Stadium, Saturday (6/11/2021) night WIB, Barcelona closed the first half with a 3-0 advantage thanks to goals from Ansu Fati, Sergio Busquets and Memphis Depay.
However, Barcelona finally had to settle for one point after being held to a 3-3 draw. Celta Vigo scored three goals in the second half to force a draw.
According to reports Sport, Xavi alluded to the match on his first day coaching Barcelona, Tuesday (9/11/2021).
“You have to give more,” Xavi told the Barcelona players, as reported Sport.
“Winning 3-0 at the break, you can’t draw. That can’t happen,” he said.
Xavi also stressed that players have to give everything, both physically and mentally.
Xavi Hernandez takes over as Barcelona coach after Ronald Koeman was sacked. The former Barcelona midfielder has a contract until 2023.
